Hypnosis

Hypnosis is derived from the Greek word "sleep" which is a trance like state that resembles sleep but is induced by a person whose suggestions are accepted by the subject. This technique is use for medical purposes to relieve anxiety or to alter behavior. "Hypnosis" is a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention.

The subject focuses attention by responding to the hypnotist’s suggestion .As attention is focused the hypnotist’s words are gradually accepted without the subject conducting any conscious censorship of what is being said.
