Attunement

Attunement is a divine process wherein the Reiki master opens the Chakra's of the student. This process helps the student to become more tuned to healing others with the Grace of the universal master.

This is the most critical aspect of Reiki, which is not possible without a Reiki master. It is only with Attunement that one becomes a Reiki healer. It is said that the Universal master comes in the human form through your Reiki master during this sacred process. It is therefore imperative that the student takes this seriously and respects their Reiki master knowing fully well that they are the channels through which the Universal energies are operating.

Attunement is also credited in clearing the karmic bonds. The fact that your master is attuning you is a reflection that they are following the 5 principles of Reiki.
